Disastrous Flowers

Well I decided that it would be a good idea to try and take my mind off things and finally finish the flowers.

It was a disaster I am not great with rolling them and the finish was not as perfect as I would have liked so I decided against using rolled flowers

Everything is a learning experience and I’m convinced that I am not alone when it comes to HATING rolled flowers.
I never see blogs about how people struggle with projects it’s always documented on how easy everything is to make. But remember the people making these videos and blogs have probably struggled a great deal when they started out also. Do not get disheartened if you are struggling to get the flowers looking perfect. Practice practice practice.

I am however still determined to pull off this floral sign and document it on this blog.

Hopefully as I progress on this blog I will look back on this moment and it will be a reminder that we all started out the same way and that it is important never to forget that.

Flower Power 🥴 Cricut

Well, where do I start? Flowers, rolled flowers, layered flowers and felt flowers any flowers for that matter I hate them.😭 We see so many of the beautiful flowers  postsed on Facebook and some have even completed an entire wall full of the most beautiful flowers you have ever seen and it’s all done with cardstock! So after seeing lots of posts saying “not bad for my first attempt”  and the pictures looking like they have plucked it straight out Beachgrove garden I thought I can do that! I logged into Cricut Design Space and as I am subscribed to Cricut Acsess I selected the purple image bellow I was only messing around to see if I could actually produce anything that resembles a flower and duplicated only 4 petals to test it out. I made each petal a little smaller then cut. I used cheap card bought from Poundland and cut it on the cardboard + setting. I was really surprised by the results and I was now on mission to cut more. I tried the rolled flowers befo...

Thoughts on the Foil Quill

My thoughts on the Foil Quill Using Cricut I have had the quill now for a few months. I am not an avid crafter so I have not used it to create a card Ive only tested it on various materials. I like to try out things that not alot of people are making. I just love experimenting! Foiling on Gloss Vinyl  I decided to foil on some gloss vinyl and purchased this design as I thought it was super CUTE!!! click here to purchase design I tried to tape the foil down best that I could but as per usual it came loose whilst foiling :(   I am using Heat Reactive Foil/Hot Stamping Foil. Please do not get confused with Toner Reactive Foils as this WILL NOT WORK.  I used the Pink Pen tool for the thinnest line. Remember to let it heat up for about 5 minutes before using. I really am impressed with the outcome. SUPER CUTE!!! So next was to try it on Matt Vinyl, Using the same method as above. Again it turned out great!!! So now I was f...

Using Font Glyphs for Cricut Design Space (Windows)

Tutorial On How To Use Glyphs In Cricut Design Space. When we buy fonts, they often come with lots of alternates and glyphs (I call them the "Fancy Letters") Design Space does not allow you to access these but there is an easy way to do it. Press Start (the windows icon) and then search for Character Map Once you have it open select your font from the drop down menu Now open FontLab Pad.  (  Here  is link to another EASY tutorial that will explain how FontLab Pad works with Design Space and where to download it) Click on File> Open installed or simply drag your font into the program. I selected Samantha Font which can be purchased  Here  For only $17  This is the slightly frustrating part as it is hard to see what letter you have selected, below I selected the 'R' Now Click on FontLab Pad , Right click and select paste  And that is how you get all the "fancy" letters.  Below is a se...
